Laboratory instruments and consumables for inorganic, dairy and food analysis

ICP plasma source

Accessories for ICP instruments

Inductively-Coupled Plasma (ICP) instruments, by optical emission (ICP-OES) and mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) are the basis of all current, sensitive inorganic analysis methods, having greatly surpassed atomic-absorption (AAS) methods in the last few decades. Moolap Scientific is a manufacturer of ICP sample introduction components, and can supply nebulizers, spray chambers, torches, devices for cleaning nebulizers, as well as consumables from its own designs - and from the comprehensive range of Meinhard ESG (USA).
dairy foods

Dairy and Food Laboratory equipment

Gerber is a watch-word in the history of milk testing. Since 1892 the name of Dr. Niklaus Gerber has been associated with the precise measurements of dairy products and foods generally. Moolap Scientific is proud to be the representative of Gerber Instruments AG in Australasia and Asia. We supply Butyrometers, Centrifuges, Cryoscopes, Dairy pH meters, Instruments for food temperature and moisture determinations, Sediment Testers, Viscometers, Cream Testers, Hydrometers, Ovens and Incubators.

Inorganic Chemistry Standards

Reference solutions, or inorganic standards, are the universal requirements for the calibration of ICP-OES, ICP-MS, AAS and ion-chromatography instruments. These solutions are available in single-element (mono-element) and multi-element forms, in various stable concentrations, various matrices and bottle volumes from 20mL to 500mL. Chromatography single-ion and multi-ion standards are available with ions such as acetate, benzoate, bromate, chloride ... up the alphabet to succinate and thiocyanate.
organic chemicals standards

Mono- and multi-component organics

Mono- and multi-component organic chemical standards, from the very comprehensive range of CPAchem. These organic reference materials are manufactured for use with ASTM Methods, EN Methods, EPA Methods, ISO methods and European and US Pharmacopoeia Methods.
Products listed in 4 categories :
- mono-component standards : 1100 compounds, listed in 35 pages
- multi-component standards : 400 products, listed in 28 pages
- multi-residue reference samples : 20 different mixtures, listed in 5 pages
- high-purity organic reference materials : over 100 types, listed in 3 pages
* Custom-specified organic standards can be supplied too *
BDE standards

BDE standards

Brominated diphenyl ethers or BDEs, are a class of organobromine compounds that are used mainly as flame retardants. Like other brominated flame retardants, BDEs have been used in a wide array of products, including building materials, electronics, furnishings, motor vehicles, aircraft, plastics, polyurethane foams, and textiles. BDEs are classified according to the average number of bromine atoms in the molecule. These 560 reference materials are presented in two files, totalling 18 pages.
Because of their toxicity and persistence, their industrial production is partially restricted under the Stockholm Convention. Lower brominated species (with 1–4 bromine atoms per molecule) are regarded as more dangerous because they bioaccumulate.

PCB standards

Polychlorinated biphenyl compounds (PCBs) are organo-chlorine compounds that are produced globally for industry. The compounds are yellow-beige viscous liquids. They are hydrophobic, with low water solubilities but good solubility in organic solvents, oils and fats. Their carcinogenic nature has limited their use over the last half century, and PCBs are now monitored in the environment. Because they are resistant to acids, bases, oxidation and hydrolysis, they are used as dielectric and coolant fluids in electrical apparatus, as plasticizers in paints and cements, additives in flexible PVC coatings of electrical equipment, pesticide fillers, flame retardants, caulking compounds, adhesives, floor finishes and waterproofing agents.
Over 300 PCBs standards are listed in 11 pages, split between two files.
